Pedro A. Gonzalez
Pedro A. Gonzalez was born in Mexico (1961), he lives in the Metro Atlanta area since 2001. He studied visual arts, photography and graphic design in Mexico City, and from 1989 to 1994 studied and worked in printmaking at the Atelier Circulaire in Montreal, Canada under the tutoring of François-Xavier Marange. Then He spend 4 year in the state of Oaxaca, Mexico working at Soruco Printmaking workshop. He also worked several years at the Atlanta Printmaking studio.
Gonzalez's works have been exhibited in many solo and group exhibitions, in Mexico, Canada and in the USA. His work has been shown in museums, galleries, cultural centers, universities, consulates, corporations, and public spaces. His works has been published in many media such as Vie des Arts of Canada. In addition to creating his artworks, he has a career in graphic design where he has worked as a designer and Art director.
Currently he has engaged in the Area of Book Arts working with traditional Mexican Amate paper using contemporary techniques as well as hand-made crafting techniques.
